Findlay High School Symphony Orchestra presents annual Pops Concert, November 18-19
Findlay, Ohio—The Findlay High School Symphony Orchestra will present its annual Pops Concert on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 18-19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Heminger Auditorium in the Findlay High School.
The theme for the concert is “American Portrait” and the orchestra will perform a wide-variety of popular musical selections, including “Aura Lee,” “Shenandoah,” “Superman Returns,” “Salute to the Big Apple,” and “Stars and Stripes Forever.”
The concert will include an informative slide show with harp interlude music between selections. The commentator for the concert is Tim Mattis, Band Department Chair and director of The Findlay Trojan Marching Band and Pantasia Steelband. Interlude solo harpist is Mikayla Brown. The Findlay High School Symphony Orchestra is directed by Kenneth Pressel, with assistant directors Christine Klosterman and Tim Mattis. This is Mr. Pressel’s 18th year teaching orchestra at Findlay City Schools. He received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in violin performance from Ohio University.
“These talented high school students are hard at work every weekday morning preparing for the Pops Concert,” said Pressel. “We invite the community to come and enjoy the efforts of these fine young musicians.”
Tickets for the Pops Concert may be purchased at the door and are $5 for adults and $2 for students.
